Description

The 4-Motor Interface Box connects, protects and powers 4 of your 24-volt DC vent/curtain motors. It comes as signal-sending or signal-receiving, two input voltages, and two levels of control — select the combination that matches your controller and how independently you need your motors to run.

Contact type determines the direction of the connection:

  • 24VDC out to dry contact — this box is the power source. It supplies 24VDC through its dry contact to whatever’s downstream, such as an external controller or relay.
  • 24VAC in to interposing relay coils — this box is signal-driven. Your existing controller sends a 24VAC signal in, and this box’s relay coils use that signal to run the motors.

Input voltage is 120V or 240V. The 240V version draws half the current of the 120V version for the same power, so it uses a smaller breaker.

Signal wires determine how independently the 4 motors can be controlled:

  • 9-wire — each of the 4 motors runs independently of the others
  • 3-wire — all 4 motors run together as a single group

What's the difference between the 24VDC out and 24VAC in versions?

The 24VDC out version is the power source — it supplies 24VDC to a downstream controller or relay through its dry contact. The 24VAC in version is signal-driven — it receives a 24VAC signal from your existing controller and uses that signal, through its interposing relay coils, to run the motors.

How many motors can this run?

Up to 4 motors per box, in every configuration.

Can I run each motor independently?

Yes, with the 9-wire configuration. The 5-wire configuration groups motors into 2 independent pairs, and the 3-wire configuration runs all 4 together.

What breaker size do I need?

10A for the 120V version, 5A for the 240V version.
