Portable fertilizer injector carts are complete, self-contained injection units. Each cart includes a water-powered fertilizer injector, bypass assembly, 6 gallon concentrate tank and cart, assembled and ready to connect to a hose.
No plumbing modifications and no electricity are required. Connect a hose to the inlet, run a hose from the outlet to the point of application, fill the tank, and the injector doses concentrate in proportion to the water passing through it. The bypass assembly allows clear water to be run without disconnecting the injector or emptying the tank.
Four injector options are available at different injection ratios, flow capacities and pressure ranges.
When a cart is preferable to a fixed installation
- Houses without plumbed injection. Older ranges, hoop houses and overflow space often have water but no injection point.
- Multiple zones sharing one injector. A single cart can serve several houses in rotation rather than installing a fixed unit in each.
- A second formulation. Where the main line runs one feed program, a cart applies a different fertilizer, a micronutrient drench or a fungicide without altering the main stock tank.
- Trials and small batches. Feeding a single crop, block or bench at a different rate than the balance of the range.
- Leased or temporary facilities. No permanent modification to the building.
- Backup capacity. Maintains feeding while a fixed injector is out of service.
- Retail and garden center use. Relocates to the point of application.
Included
- Water-powered fertilizer injector (choice of four)
- Bypass assembly
- 6 gallon concentrate tank
- Cart, assembled
Fittings: the brass fittings on the cart are standard hose thread. The pipe thread fittings on the filter and the T’s are 3/4″ NPT.
Injector comparison
Three of the four options are fixed at 1:100 (1%) with a maximum flow of 11 GPM. Where a 1% feed rate suits the program, selection among them is determined by water quality and supply pressure. The Dosatron DOS14 is the only adjustable option and the only unit rated above 11 GPM.
| Chemilizer CH9000-210 | MixRite 556AG | Dosatron DOS11 | Dosatron DOS14 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Injection ratio | 1:100 fixed (1%) | 1:100 fixed (1%) | 1:100 fixed (1%) | 1:50 – 1:500 adjustable |
| Flow rate | 0.02 – 11 GPM | 0.17 – 11 GPM | 0.05 – 11 GPM | 0.05 – 14 GPM |
| Operating pressure | 3 – 85 PSI | 6 – 120 PSI | 4.3 – 85 PSI | 4.3 – 85 PSI |
| Adjustable ratio | No | No | No | Yes |
| Inlet filter required | No | Recommended | Recommended | Recommended |
| Injector unit | Chemilizer CH9000-210 | MixRite 556AG | Dosatron D25F1 | Dosatron D14MZ2 |
Chemilizer CH9000-210 — the diaphragm water motor is unaffected by sand or mineral content, so no inlet filtration is required. Concentrate is injected downstream of the motor, isolating the drive mechanism from the chemical. Specify for well, pond or sediment-heavy water. Widest low-flow capability of the four.
MixRite 556AG — widest operating pressure range of the four options at 6 to 120 PSI. Specify where supply pressure runs high or varies enough that the 85 PSI ceiling on the other units is a constraint.
Dosatron DOS11 — fixed ratio, which eliminates the possibility of an unintended setting change. Specify for operations already running Dosatron injectors, as parts and service knowledge carry over.
Dosatron DOS14 — the only adjustable option and the only unit rated above 11 GPM. Specify where multiple crops or growth stages are fed from one cart, or where ratio flexibility is required.
Tank capacity and run time
The 6 gallon tank determines run time between refills. At a given injection ratio, a full tank treats a fixed volume of water:
| Injection ratio | Water treated per 6 gallon tank |
|---|---|
| 1:50 (2%) | 300 gallons |
| 1:100 (1%) | 600 gallons |
| 1:200 (0.5%) | 1,200 gallons |
| 1:500 (0.2%) | 3,000 gallons |
The three fixed-ratio units operate at 1:100, yielding approximately 600 gallons of finished solution per fill. The adjustable DOS14 ranges from 300 to 3,000 gallons per fill depending on the ratio selected.
Does the cart require electricity?
No. All four injectors are powered by the water pressure in the supply hose.
What is the bypass assembly for?
It allows clear water to be run through the cart without injecting, permitting watering in, leaching or flushing without disconnecting the injector or emptying the tank.
What size fittings does it use?
The brass fittings on the cart are standard hose thread. The pipe thread fittings on the filter and T’s are 3/4″ NPT.
Can the injection ratio be changed?
Only on the Dosatron DOS14. The other three are fixed at 1:100.
Is an inlet filter required?
The Chemilizer requires no inlet filtration. A 200 mesh filter on the supply is recommended for the MixRite and Dosatron units to protect seals and piston.
Can the cart be used for anything besides fertilizer?
Yes. All four inject fungicides, insecticides, acids for pH correction, chlorine, sanitizers and line cleaners. Confirm chemical compatibility with the injector’s seal material before use.
How long does a tank last?
At 1:100, a full 6 gallon tank treats approximately 600 gallons of water. See the run time table above.
