The EZ Snap Rope Hook is the attachment point for 1/4″ wind rope on roll-up sidewalls. It installs one of two ways: snapped directly into a wiggle wire channel with no drilling, or fastened to any flat surface with a screw or bolt.
Designed for the Advancing Alternatives WireLock channel, and it fits other manufacturers’ wiggle wire channel as well — so it works on houses we didn’t build.
Rope seats into the hook by squeezing it in, and pulls back out by hand when you want it out — but it will not pop loose on its own under tension. That combination is the point. Wind ropes come off for the season and go back on without cutting knots or fighting hardware.
Machined from aluminum, so it will not rust and will not stain poly.
Part number 85-EZSNAP.
Installing without drilling
If your structure has wiggle wire channel — ours or another manufacturer’s — the hook goes in without a fastener. Insert the upper tab into the channel, then pivot the bottom of the hook down until it seats.
On a double WireLock, the hook installs in the bottom channel — below the roll-up curtain, with roof poly locked in the channel above.
Space hooks approximately 4 feet apart, starting at one end of the run.
The alternative is 4″ eyebolts with double nuts every 4 feet. On a 100-foot sidewall, that’s 25 holes drilled and 25 fasteners set. The EZ Snap eliminates all of it wherever you have channel to snap into.
Installing on other surfaces
Where there’s no channel to snap into, the hook mounts to any flat surface with a single screw or bolt through the fastener hole. Greenhouse frame tubing, extrusions, purlins and baseboards all work.
For fastening to metal tubing or extrusion we recommend a #12 x 1-1/2″ hex washer head Tek screw in stainless steel. See the FAQ below for why.
How many do I need?
Hooks space approximately 4 feet apart, which makes the math simple:
| Pack | Hooks | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| 25 piece pack | 25 | 100 linear ft |
| 500 piece case | 500 | 2,000 linear ft |
The 500-piece case works out to a lower cost per hook than the 25-packs. If you are outfitting more than about eight sidewalls, or expect to be back for more next season, the case is the better buy.
Divide your sidewall length by 4 and round up. Add a few spares — they’re cheap, and a missing hook on a windy day is not the moment to discover you’re short.
Remember you have two sidewalls on most houses. A 100-foot house outfitted on both walls needs 50 hooks, not 25.
Note that the EZ Snap serves the upper attachment point. The bottom of the wind rope typically lands on 6″ eyebolts set into the baseboard — those are separate, and are also spaced every 4 feet.

1 review for Ezsnap Rope Hook
What size Tek screw (self-tapping screw) do I need for the EZ Snap Rope Hook?
We recommend using a #12 x 1.5″ Hex Head Washer Head Tek Screw in stainless steel.
This is the best size and style for securely fastening the EZ Snap Rope Hook to greenhouse frame tubing or extrusions.
Why this screw?
- #12 diameter – Provides excellent holding power in metal greenhouse tubing.
- 1.5″ length – Long enough to go through the hook and into the tubing with good thread engagement, but not so long that it protrudes excessively on the other side.
- Hex head with washer – Makes installation easy with a nut driver or impact driver and helps distribute pressure to prevent pull-through.
- Stainless steel – Resists rust in the humid greenhouse environment.
Tip: Pre-drill a pilot hole slightly smaller than the screw diameter if you’re fastening into thicker or harder material. Always use a magnetic bit holder for easier handling.
Do I need a screw at all?
Not if you have wiggle wire channel to work with. The hook snaps in — insert the upper tab, then pivot the bottom into the channel. Screws are only needed when mounting to a surface without channel.
Which channel does it go in on a double WireLock?
The bottom channel, below the roll-up curtain. Roof poly locks into the channel above.
How far apart do the hooks go?
Approximately 4 feet, starting at one end of the run.
What size rope does it take?
1/4″. Our wind rope is 1/4″ polyester and is what these are designed for.
Will the rope pull out on its own?
No. The rope squeezes in and pulls back out by hand when you want it out, but it doesn’t pop loose under tension. That’s what makes seasonal removal practical.
Can I reuse them?
Yes. Hooks that snap into a wirelock channel come back out, and screwed hooks unfasten. Aluminum doesn’t corrode, so there’s nothing to seize.
Do these replace eyebolts?
For the upper attachment point, yes — where you have a WireLock base to snap into. The bottom attachment into the baseboard still uses eyebolts, typically 6″.
How many come in a pack?
We sell 25-piece packs or 500-piece cases. At 4-foot spacing a 25-pack covers 100 linear feet and a case covers 2,000.
