Wanted also to just let you know that we have grown some of the best greenhouse plants and produce of our careers this year. It might be that we finally might be getting to know a few things after twenty years in the business or it might be that the controllers that we bought from you did a way better job of maintaining the proper growing temperatures. Best of all it took one more thing off of our minds. That last point alone would be worth the cost. For that matter your customer service might be worth the cost. So thank you thank you! This thank-you is hideously overdue. In April, the Metropolitan Farm in Closter, NJ had a problem with a side vent. Spencer Rhoad and Rich Hite were able to determine the problem was a rectifier, and helped me to replace it. I learned how to use a voltmeter without electrocuting myself and without damaging additional electrical components. Due to their expert guidance, I was able to install the new rectifier (I tend to try to avoid fixing things that cost more than I make in a reasonable period of time!). Joann Keller-Thomsen kindly shipped out the replacement part at no cost.
I wish to thank the aforementioned people, and others that I spoke with when I called. Everyone I dealt with was very kind, very professional, and very, very helpful. I’m sure it was a very busy time of year for your company (doesn’t everything in this industry go crazy when spring hits?), but everyone I spoke with, especially Spencer and Rich, generously gave me their time to fix our problem. We purchased automatic roll up curtain motors, with a humidity monitor and a control box for our propagation greenhouse from Advancing Alternatives as part of a local farmers’ grant we received to improve our business. As befits a non-profit, my director and myself were the installers. I had many questions and Advancing Alternatives’ Rich Hite from Engineering Design & Technical Development was quick to respond and extremely knowledgeable about the products and the installation. He even sent me wiring diagrams and and called to follow up.

Our new roll up sides on an existing hoop house really was the answer to simplifying our perennial growing needs. No more issues with early spring temperature spikes causing early growth.
From Joanne who always answers the phone in such a sweet and friendly manner to Matt, who somehow always manages to make the time to carefully listen to difficult challenges and is ever willing to try and come up with a solution, and Rich who will listen to our feed back and fine tweak and customize electrical details to make things work for our situation, working together with Advancing Alternatives has been a pleasure and great experience. Without your patience and willingness to go the extra mile to provide the knowledge and equipment specifically designed to suit our needs, the installation of the climate controls in our greenhouses would not have been possible. I seriously do not think that another company would have gone to the same extent, so we feel fortunate to have come into contact with you guys.
